Leeds Mail Centre Progressing Nicely

The new 4900m.sq main extension to Royal Mail’s, Leeds Mail Centre is now watertight with the internal fit-out and M&E works progressing well. The works also include an additional extension to the collections warehouse with new vehicle canopies and substantial internal refurbishment modifications in a live operational environment.

The project had an added complexity which required part of the extension works to be temporarily handed over during November 2011 to January 2012 for use by Royal Mail during the busy Christmas period.

Watson Batty and Wates Construction are working in close collaboration with Royal Mail to ensure a smooth and safe interface between the building works and the 24h operation at the Mail Centre.

The building is due to be completed at the end of May 2012.
